Artist Residency: Marta de Pascalis
Marta de Pascalis, a composer and sound artist known for her focused, minimal approach to sound synthesis joined Music For The Sea for an artist residency in Ibiza.
The residency moved between quiet studio time at Wider Sounds Studio and time spent outdoors, listening and exploring the island.A field expedition to Formentera aboard La Bella Verde, a solar-powered boat, became a key moment of the residency. Moving gently through the water, Marta recorded sound above Posidonia meadows, spending time listening in the middle of the seagrass ecosystem. The experience connected studio work with the rhythms and presence of the sea.
The residency formed part of Posidonia Soundscapes, a long-term project endorsed by the United Nations Ocean Decade (UNESCO)
