Artist Residency: Grand River

Grand River joined Music For The Sea for an artist residency in Ibiza, bringing a deeply sensitive and emotional approach to listening and sound.

During her time on the island, she explored the northern shoreline, moving between open coast and quieter coves. Field recordings were made both above and below the water, listening closely to the shifting presence of sea, wind, and space.

Her work is guided by a strong sense of atmosphere and feeling, and this sensitivity shaped the way the landscape was approached. The residency unfolded as a quiet exchange with the island, where listening became the central gesture and the environment itself informed the experience.

The residency formed part of Posidonia Soundscapes, a long-term project endorsed by the United Nations Ocean Decade (UNESCO)
